New Look, New Direction

Posted: September 24, 2010 in Uncategorized

I’ve been pondering this for a while now and decided to take the leap.  When I set up the blog, it was intended to be very thoughtful and reflective and, as you can see from some of my posts, it has been.  The problem is that it was also quite random, aimless and sporadic, to say the least.  The blog will be decidedly more focused, purposeful and consistent.  I considered removing all the old posts, but I’m leaving them up because they really do tell you a little about me.  I was also thinking of changing the name, but realized that this is exactly what I would like it to be.

SIT

This isn’t just something I’m going to quickly “throw together.”  Each post is going to take some time to develop.  I will be taking my time to pray and think about it before putting it out there.

THINK

I believe God has given us brains for a reason, and so I’d like to take this chance to encourage discussion and thoughts on what I post.  There will be many times where I won’t take a stance on a subject in order to foster that discussion.  That’s not to say I don’t have a viewpoint, but you will likely see it come out as part of the discussion, rather than in the postings themselves.

GOOD

I originally came up with this as a not-so-clever play on words with my last name (just as a side note, believe me, I’ve heard them all!).  I want the blog to be good on several levels.  I want it to be positive, engaging, to make people think and to grow people in their quest to know God (or know Him more as the case may be).

BLOG

Well, that’s what it is… and the name doesn’t work without that in the title.

Ground Rules

Finally, some ground rules as it relates to discussion.  While I would encourage various different thoughts and comments, I would ask that people remain respectful.  Keep in mind the “Golden Rule,” to treat others as you would like to be treated.

That’s about it, my next post, “My Story” will be coming shortly…

Stay tuned.

In fact, I want it to be better than “good,” I want it to be excellent, but my last name isn’t “Excellent,” so it’s good.
